I have a baby shower to attend to tomorrow and of course, waited until today to make the card. This baby boy will be the newest addition to a very athletic family. Not only are mom and dad very athletic (as in junior Olympian (dad), athlete of the year (mom, I believe more than once), but his grandparents and aunts are also known for their athletic endeavors and records. Mom has chosen a cute Safari Team theme for the nursery and I used that as my inspiration for the card.
There is very little stamping on this card. I used a plaid stamp for the texture on the leaves and that is it! I free handed all the elements and put them together. Well, I did trace around a couple of Spellbinders classic circle dies for the lion's mane and the soccer ball (because the size I wanted was just slightly larger than what the die cut!!)
This picture shows the dimension of the layers.
The basics of the card are: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Pure Luxury Ivory top folded base with SU's Chocolate Chip on top. Certainly celery, barley banana, Creamy Caramel, and white card stock. Wild Wasabi, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel inks for sponging. Sharpie white paint pen. Black, and blue copic markers. Ruby red marker.
And here is the inspiration picture that led to this
I'm pretty please with my version! I like to think that Mom will keep the card in Baby's book as a memento of his nursery!
Now, I just have to figure out how I am going to wrap the baby tub box!!
'Till next time!!

What a sweet card. I'm sure it will be cherished.
This is quite adorable. I'm sure Mom will love it.
What a darling card! I'm very impressed with the fact that you hand cut all of these elements...it looks so professional and polished. I bet mom frames it and adds it as a decor element in baby's room. I know I would!
So cute, Starla, I love making cards from drawing and cutting! Sometimes I think it is easier! Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday at the baby shower!
Oh my goodness! How cute is this? Such a great keepsake for the mother! I'm sure there will pictures of both in the baby book and the card will be kept in a layout for baby! Well done my friend!
Wow..You made an awesome keepsake. I am sure they loved it. it is amazing how it looks just like the baby quilt. That was a lot of time, effort and love to make that.
wholly crap..... I'd be more than pleased. That crib sheet manufacturer needs to market your card. AWESOME.
How STINKING CUTE!!!!!! That is AWESOME!!! And I have to say, I still have several of the things you made for me. Kasen's sign in book for his shower is still proudly displayed in his room because it so perfectly fits with his theme! You rock!!
